I'm working on an edit for a client tonight and REALLY enjoying his story, so not a lot of time to blog, AND I'm going far too slowly to make my self-imposed deadline. But I wanted to share a little proverb I came up with in the shower this morning while pondering a fact I learned at the BiMart checkout counter. Seems that the two most heavily shop-lifted items are teeth whitening strips and Oil of Olay products. Stores now have to keep them back behind the main cash register. Yep, like tobacco products.
We've been going verse by verse through Proverbs at Lake Bible. And so, in a flash of wisdom, I came up with the following:
He who whitens his teeth with stolen strips hides the stain of sin;
she who beautifies with stolen facials masks the ugliness within.
Want to take a crack at writing your own?
Whoa! You are talented. I couldn't even come close to that. Perhaps tomorrow morning in the shower or while drying my hair, an epiphany will hit me. I too come up with great ideas during showers. Maybe I can even think up a proverb about why showering generates great ideas.

Good job, Cafe Lily!
ReplyDeleteHey, MIA girl. I wanted to tell you that I was having coffee this morning with my mom. She asked if you and Bonnie Leon had any new books out. She wants to read your lastest. She said you two are at the top of her list of favorite authors along with Dick Franscis and John Jakes. Thought you'd love to hear that encouragement from a fan!
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
